I was born in 1959 in Congo, where my parents emigrated from Europe after the Second World War. We went back to Italy in 1960, after the Independence.
I began to shoot very early, when I was eleven, but I started to work as a photographer at the age of twenty, first as an assistant and then as a free-lance. I’ve been exploreing different genres: first architecture and corporate, then still-life with a clear preference for surreal images. Over the years I first worked analogic learning and inventing tricks to create non-possible images and then I’ve been among the first photographers to invest in digital, when Photoshop was still version 2.0, quickly earning a reputation as a special-effects maker.
For over twenty years I worked for many of the most important italian advertising agencies, but around 2000 I felt the need to return working on projects which let me more creative freedom. Since then I’ve been working hard to achieve a kind of mutation, still in progress. At present I prefer to work on a narrative concept, should it be for a personal project or for an assignment.

My preferred hobby is my work, which inspiration comes from literature, music, painting, cinema, design, relations. I’ve discovered relatively late that the best things I am able to do regard people: probably maturity has brought to me a different attitude and self-awareness: I really love humanity and its cultures and I love to tell its stories.
I love to know new persons and to work with them: this is the main reason why I often share ideas, jobs and wishes with other professionals, especially when this drives to a combination of different skills and talents. During the last years I’ve built a netwok of relashionships with designers, writers, calligraphers, dancers, musicians, educators which allows to me to work on communications projects with a multi-disciplinary approach.
I live in Verona with my wife, Loredana, and our two children, Giovanna and Carlos.
I exhibited my work in Italy, Poland, USA, UK, Spain, Slovak Republic, Greece, China, France, Lituania, Germany, Nigeria, Portugal.
